Angkor Wat Photographic Tour: Day 1 – Arrival Siem Reap
Welcome to Siem Reap, the most appealing gateway to visit the famous temples of Angkor Wat. Our local representative guide will transfer you to the hotel. Check in and make yourself refreshed to enjoy the further adventures awaiting you.
This afternoon you will be guided to explore the Angkor temples constructed during the reign of king Suryavarman-II in the early 12th century. Angkor Wat temples are designed by following the temple mountain, Mount Meru.
These temples are in the classical style of Khmer architecture. This is the sacred and divine residence of Vishnu, the king who resides here after his death. The walls inside the temple are carved with divine images and bas-reliefs describing the wars of Suryavarman-II and the Devine Hindu Mythology.

It is thought that more than 2000 Apsara dancers used to decorate the entire temple. It took thirty years to be constructed with intensive labor. This is the main attraction of Cambodia and so it is highlighted in the national flag of the country. You will coincide with the “Golden Hours” in front of you and guess how the Apsaras used to decorate the temple in the gleaming light.

Angkor Wat Photographic Tour: Day 2 – Siem Reap (B,D)
An early start and make yourself ready to capture the sunrise at Angkor Wat. It is really an exclusive experience to watch sunrise here and capture some photographs. The sun rays slowly appear over the five iconic towers. We will arrange a breakfast box from the hotel.
The modern name of the Angkor temples is Ta Prohm. Around the location, you will get ample opportunities of capturing overgrown natural trees and bushes, vines and shrubs among the temples. These entire phenomena make the Tomb Raider Temple unique. Early morning visit will allow you to capture most scenic beauty in the location.
Our guide will take you to visit Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer Empire. The entire city is bordered by an 8-meter high wall shaping a perfect square. The next visit is Preah Pithu, a group of Buddhist temple made in the 12th centuries. Most of the tourists miss these temples for its intrinsic stone carvings well-preserved from the ages.
On the way back to the hotel, pause for a moment at the North Gate of Angkor Thom. This is really an impressive stone gate designed by cutting huge stones that demonstrate elephant’s head and four giant faces. Capturing an image on your camera is really exclusive. Angkor Wat Photographic Tour would not be complete without it. Watching the sunset at Prasat Chroung temple is an experience not to be missed. Capture some of the photographs that will remain with you as everlasting memories. You can board a boat where drinks and canapés are served. Enjoy the beauty of the river and its banks while the boat is pedaling slowly along the ancient moat.
This evening visit the John McDermott’s Gallery to observe his latest photo exhibition followed by an a la carte dinner at the adjacent Foreign Correspondents’ Club (The FCC) an experience in itself.

Angkor Wat Photographic Tour: Day 3 – Siem Reap (B)
After an early breakfast, our guide will depart with you for an interesting boating trip on the Tonlé Sap Lake where there is ample of opportunity to capture the impressive images through your camera.
This is the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia. During the rainy season, it swells four times than is usual size. Board a local boat and visit Kampong Phluck where the houses are built on stilts which submerge in the wet season by the water of the lake.
On the way, floating houses might be visible along with the flooded forests. It is should be noted that in the dry season, boating is almost impossible and only available from June to March. However, you can choose an alternative boating at Chong Kneas.
On the return Siem Reap, enjoy the beauty of countryside at Roluos area where paddy fields and sugar palm trees are growing. If you head to the Roluos Pagoda, you can achieve special blessing from the Buddhist monks. Return to your hotel
Late in the afternoon, take another visit to Angkor Thom to catch the “Golden Hour” at Bayon Temple. Being built in the 12th century, this is regarded as the masterpiece among the temples. The grandeur of 54 towers representing the 54 provinces of Khmer empire is the real gem for capturing photos. Rest of the evening is at leisure.

Angkor Wat Photographic Tour: Day 4 – Siem Reap (B,L)
After breakfast depart for the village or Preah Dak to enjoy the local market a photographers delight. Next the pretty temple of Banteay Srei, the real “gem”, of the Angkor area. The “Citadel of the Women” has become the best-preserved temple in Cambodia. Here you will discover some of the finest examples of classical Khmer art. The temple is finely decorated with bas-reliefs, Banteay Srei is constructed with pink sandstone which is not seen anywhere else in Angkor region.
Relax in a quiet spot and enjoy a picnic lunch. Gossip and share experience with others while taking lunch.
In the afternoon, head towards the beautiful countryside at Chau Srei Vibol. Here the hilltop temple has collapsed upon itself. Capture some images before heading back to the hotel at Siem Reap and refresh for the evening.
This evening enjoy an Apsara show at Fou-Nan restaurant in an intimate location. This show is performed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and more frequently during peak tourist months.

Angkor Wat Photographic Tour: Day 5 – Siem Departure (B)
Enjoy a fresh breakfast at the hotel and make yourself ready to depart from Siem Reap. If time permits enjoy shopping at the local market of Psar Leu. Buy some clothes or souvenirs for your friends and family. Then it is time to say ‘chum reap lear’ (goodbye) to the wonderland, Cambodia.
You will be transferred to the airport for the departing flight.
