Perth to Broome with Aussie Explorers

Firstly no camping!

Secondly accommodation is incredibly difficult to book given peak season and number of single travellers requiring share rooms, you will need to be flexible with bedding arrangements, all same sex share room 2-4 Explorers in each room. Karijini Eco Resort in the National Park is quad share with two double bunk beds so top bunks need to be utilised, sorry nothing else available. No single supplement either sorry, bring your ear plugs! 🙂

This trip is a full on adventure packed full of national parks and natural areas of beauty to explore. Its also one of the best outback adventures one can have travelling from Perth all the way up to Broome along the coast exploring some wonderful national parks, world heritage areas and coastal scenery along the way.
There are some long driving days sorry to say but that is the essence of a road trip, plenty of stops along the way though for loo/snacks

Inclusions: 22 seat 2wd mini bus limited to 16 Aussie Explorers including driver, rear seats will be used for luggage, accommodation for 15 nights in a mixed combination of motel/hotel/ twin/triple/quad rooms) and fully guided.


Food will be by kitty to save money awesome stir fry and local seafood but not mandatory you can DIY if you prefer…

24 July Arrive Perth anytime relax and enjoy this beautiful city, want to stay longer ask me about arriving earlier 1 night stay in Fraser Suites East Perth great location and super comfy after a long flight, twin share rooms. Free time around this gorgeous sunny city.

If you prefer to arrive early let me know so I can book your extra nights therefore not having to change rooms.

25 July Perth to Geraldton 420km leaving after breakfast for our first venture into outback WA stopping at the Pinnacles on the way to Geraldton
Staying overnight in Wintersun Hotel Motel, great location and triple rooms, the second largest town in WA, and get a feel for the older way of life here with a wander along the Hampton Rd historical walk

26 July Geraldton to Kalbarii 160km arriving before lunch spend the afternoon exploring the national park including Murchison Gorge and Natures Window before overnighting at Kalbarri Palm Resort quad share rooms. Passing the pink lakes on the way, reach your accommodation in the pretty seaside town of Kalbarri and enjoy free time on arrival. This evening why not join a cruise (at own expense) and witness the great southern sky burst into flames as you float along through the sunset.

27 July Kalbarri to Monkey Mia explore the gorgeous Shark Bay for the rest of the day including feed the Dolphins, we have two nights here to saviour the best of Shark Bay accommodation Heritage Resort Shark Bay twin rooms.

Today’s drive northbound will take you to the Shark Bay World Heritage area, where you’ll be based for the next two nights. Here you’ll stay in one of the most westerly townships on the Aussie mainland, Visit the beautiful Shell Beach, one of only two beaches in the world composed entirely of shells.

28 July explore Shark Bay
After a short drive across the Peron Peninsula, head to the beach and meet the world-famous Monkey Mia dolphins. These friendly dolphins are fed by park rangers and often swim up to the shore several times a day. Spend a free day on the beach or choose to take a sailing adventure to see more dolphins and even dugongs in this incredible location (at own expense and subject to availability)Visit the fascinating stromatolites at Hamelin pool, the world’s oldest living organisms, and the agricultural town of Carnavon enroute to Coral Bay


29 July Shark Bay to Coral Bay 581km long drive today but get your masks on for the best snorkelling you have ever enjoyed, straight off the shore snorkel to your hearts content or relax in this little piece of WA heaven. Accommodation at Ningaloo Backpackers in twin rooms with share bathroom

Visit the fascinating stromatolites at Hamelin pool, the world’s oldest living organisms, and the agricultural town of Carnavon enroute to Coral Bay. Ningaloo Backpackers in quad rooms two bunk beds in each room.


30 July Coral Bay

This stunning seaside resort is famous for its idyllic beach and the underwater world of Ningaloo Reef just offshore. Optional activities here include glass bottom boat rides, snorkelling adventures, quad bike rides and more. Alternatively, hire a snorkelling set and kick back on the beach, exploring at your own leisure. In the evenings spot kangaroos along with the array of birdlife. 31 July Coral Bay to Exmouth 160km arriving early enough to relax and enjoy this amazing place tomorrow is snorkel with whale sharks
(additional cost of $425* per person) If you do not want to snorkel with Whale Sharks relax around town or do another tour/adventure

Explore or relax at your own leisure, a highlight not to be missed is snorkel or swim/dive with the Whale Sharks.

02 August Exmouth to Karijini Eco Resort 650km very long drive but amazing national park staying in eco cabins for 3 nights this will be a high light for many

03-04 Aug Karijini National Park

Formed over 2500 million years ago, the Hamersley Range features an unusual series of gorges and rock formations caused by centuries of erosion. Freshwater springs trickle through chasms to form translucent rock pools and walking trails weave between dramatic rock ravines. Spend the days hiking along rocky trails, swimming and relaxing by cascading waterfalls and fresh waterholes. Bring your camera, there’ll be lots of photo opportunities at spectacular gorges like Dales Gorge, Fortesque Falls, Fern Pool, Circular Pool, Weano Gorge and Hancock Gorge.

05 August Karijini to 80 Mile Beach 600km

Stopping over right on 80 mile beach after our Karijini NP experience, time to dust off, relax and enjoy the sea breeze again, triple share family rooms

06 August 80 Mile Beach to Broome 350km our last day of driving and in time for sunset on cable beach and bottle of bubbly to celebrate!

This afternoon explore Chinatown and listen to the fascinating stories behind this colourful precinct. Take a drive through Old Broome to view typical Broome architecture and old Pearling Masters homes, then view the aqua waters of Roebuck Bay at Town Beach and learn of Broome’s One Day War. Next, stop at Matso’s Broome Brewery to sample their hand made ales and famous ginger beer (at own expense). Afterwards, visit the Japanese Cemetery and Broome Port, the base for many of today’s Pearling vessels. Then travel by the Broome Racecourse, before taking an easy paced walk at Gantheaume Point, known for dinosaur footprints. Late afternoon head to Cable Beach for sunset optional sunset camel ride (book way in advance)

Fuel is by kitty shared and will be divided between everyone with $50 collected on first pick up then as required prior to fill up, this helps reduce the cost of the trip overall.

Deposit is non refundable if you cancel for any reason including Covid-19 restrictions so I suggest travel insurance that covers you for cancellation/covid etc. I can offer your space to someone on the waitlist but a name change fee will apply. Note on National Park fees, these are $7 per person per park and dependent on vehicle access, not applicable to NP where staying overnight ie Karijini. $50 will be collected the day we leave Perth and ongoing as required until last fill up in Broome.
